Hi I am 20 years old male. I bought an office chair with high back, adjustable headrests and arm rests. For the first day when I sit on it I was feeling tiredness in both sides of shoulders, for the 2nd day I feel tiredness in only right shoulder. For 3rd day I am having pain in neck.
But now I don't have tiredness in shoulders but today I am having pain in may neck.
Kindly tell me the chair is not good or my body is adjusting with the chair.
Thank you

Hello.
It's been 3-4 days you are having these symptoms.
Basically these are generally due to some cervical spine issue.
Or it may be due to some new change of posture or not your muscle need to be worked.
So , kindly do some active neck exercises and shoulder stretches.
You can also add some calcium vit d supplements also.
For more details consult online.
And if symptoms sustain then try consult to physiotherapist near by and have some proper treatment.
Initially your body wasn't accustomed to new chair, later you got accustomed.
The pain which you got of late may be due to your improper sitting posture or your desktop's alignment with chair.
Well the information you provided here is not sufficient enough for specific conclusion.
For any new thing body adapts , but how quickly or slowly that depends on individual..
If there is a mismatch between ability and activity level. Pain , discomfort , tiredness these kind of things comes into picture. How ever if you want pass that adaptation stage early . Start doing these exercises regularly. https://youtu.be/bvnmdbnzbvu
The chair should be proper heighted according to your view
I m guess you work on screen for hours
Your screen should be straight in front of your eyes
As well as check the length of arm rest
Too low or too high will not be beneficial
Next Steps
make a schedule of working 40 mins and taking rest for next 5-10 mins
during these 5-10 mins please walk around
stretching will be usefull
you can use pillow according to comfort
Health Tips
if it doesn't help
change the chair or get an on site ergonomic consult with respect to your working conditions
Hi,
I guess chair will be good and it's not that your body is adjusting with chair but you have to check and do all this below;
chair adjustments: check chair for proper lower back (lumbar)curve, head rest - it should be slightly backwards maintaining proper cervical(neck) curve, arm rest- it should be at proper elbow heights so that there is no shoulder shrugging or shoulder depression, and proper foot support at floor
Laptop or computer adjustment: it should be at proper eye sight level or within 15 to 20 degree angle
Health Tips
advice:
avoid prolong static posture
take shortbreak in between work after every 2 hours atleast
do some simple stretching of neck and upper back muscle( trapezius stretching, pectoral stretching, etc)
if not found relief consult physiotherapist
The chair must be confortable to sit according to your height, and you must maintain proper posture of sitting on a chair.
if you sit bending forward and leaving the hands on its support keeping the head attached to resting, this will gives you pain.
To avoid such maintain proper sitting posture and try to daily warm up your body with stretching exercises in the morning.
If pain is severe try hot water fermentation twicw a day following diclofenac ointment.
If the chair's arch support is too high or too pronounced it creates a new dysfunction.
Hard to say if you are sitting properly, where your buttocks are equally loaded on right and left.
Usually high back supports are fine. Hard to say what the issue could be....unless it is assessed
