Mild chest pain (in the chest and behind the chest / back) for the past 3 days can have many causes.
The most common and likely reasons in a young person (assuming you are not elderly or have major risk factors like smoking, diabetes, high BP, high cholesterol, family history of early heart disease) are:
• Acid reflux / gastritis (very common cause of central chest pain + back discomfort)
• Musculoskeletal / chest wall pain (muscle strain, costochondritis, posture-related from sitting long hours or carrying bag)
• Anxiety / panic-related chest tightness (very frequent in students/young adults)
• Gas / bloating trapped in upper abdomen or chest
• Lung-related (mild pleurisy after viral infection, or simple viral chest inflammation)
Serious heart causes (angina, heart attack, pericarditis) are much less likely when the pain is mild, lasts 3 days, no sweating/nausea/shortness of breath/radiating to arm/jaw, and you are young. However, chest pain should never be completely ignored — even mild pain for 3 days needs proper evaluation to be safe.
Next Steps
1. See a doctor today or tomorrow (do not wait longer)
• Go to a general physician (GP) or cardiologist / chest physician.
• Tell them: pain location (front + behind), duration (3 days), intensity (mild), any relation to food/activity/breathing/posture, any other symptoms (cough, acidity, anxiety, fever).
2. Tests they will most likely do (very routine):
• ECG (electrocardiogram) — quick and must be done
• Troponin I / T blood test (rules out heart muscle damage)
• Chest X-ray (if cough or breathing concern)
• CBC + CRP (to see if inflammation/infection)
3. Go to emergency / hospital immediately if any of these appear:
• Pain becomes severe / squeezing / heavy
• Comes with sweating, vomiting, shortness of breath, dizziness/fainting
• Pain spreads to left arm, jaw, neck, upper back
• Pain worsens with activity and relieves with rest

• Until you see the doctor:
• Take Pantoprazole / Rabeprazole 40 mg once daily (empty stomach in morning) for 5–7 days — if pain is burning/acidity-related, it often improves quickly
• Avoid spicy/oily food, tea/coffee, late-night meals, lying down right after eating
• Sit upright or walk gently after meals
• Do slow deep breathing (4 sec in – 6 sec out) when anxious or pain starts
• Take simple paracetamol 500–650 mg if needed (safe, no stomach harm)
• Avoid ibuprofen/diclofenac for now (can worsen acidity)
Most likely this is non-cardiac (reflux, muscle, anxiety), but 3 days of chest pain always deserves an ECG + troponin to be 100% sure nothing is missed.

Kindly do an ECG first before going for any treatment if chest pain associated with breathing difficulty, excessive sweating, pain radiating from chest to shoulder or neck
If pain is in the epigastric region and ecg is normal
It could possibly be due to gastritis
For Gastritis
Inj. Pantobert 40mg IV stat
Syp. Sucrafil-O 10ml 1/2hr before food twice a day for 5 days
