Yes, it could be due to infected tooth or maybe you are having an erupting wisdom tooth. Need to see an OPG ( x ray) to rule out properly. Till then try to maintain to maintain good oral hygiene by brushing twice a day, rinse mouth thoroughly whenever you eat something, warm saline water rinses two to three times a day. Still have queries then you can consult me online or offline for better guidance and treatment options.

Hello. The definite diagnosis can be made only after an x-ray and clinical examination. The infected tooth can be the cause of the pain. You will require an x-ray of the tooth to identify the extent of infection, depending on which root canal treatment will be done. Pain will subside once the infection is eliminated. An infected tooth has the ability to cause referred pain to your jaws, checks, head, neck. Kindly visit a dentist at the earliest to get your treatment done. Avoid further delay.

The exact cause can not be ruled out just by reading your issue. Final diagnosis can be made only after thorough clinical examination . However, if you have an infected teeth then, there are high chances for it to be the cause for your discomfort. As every tooth in your mouth has the potential to cause a facial pain.
Next Steps
Consult a dentist near by you and get that tooth treated
Health Tips
Avoid triggering your pain by not having hot or cold meals!!
