Orthodontic treatment
My orthodontist gave me elastic band for wearing upper right canine to lower left canine ,Why did he say to wear it like this? what's the purpose of this?

Elastic bands are colour coded and work differently when used in different pattern
1. Confirm the colour and pattern of the elastic with the orthodontist
2. Duration of the wear should be addressed
3. The pattern you said is generally used for midline correction - it has a purpose , so if your orthodontist recommends it, go for it.

In my experience most ortho patients often forget the pattern of Orthodontic elastic wear. Always double check with your Orthodontist. Now if this is the pattern of wear advised for you. Then stick to it. The pattern of wear is determined by which teeth are needed to move. This to improve treatment progress and timely treatment completion. Hope this helped
