OCD -Want to come out from it.
Always feels some dirt is there in my body /dress. If i walk in my room dirt will flow from ground to my body -I feel so and i start to clean myself. I can not go to toilet. I feel toilet is the dirtiest place and i need to take bath with soap then. I met a doctor and she confirmed i have OCD. But i can not take the medicine she prescribed as when i took that medicine i loss my body balance and this effect remains for 24hours. Kindly help.

Do appreciate you asking for a professional opinion. As you have been confirmed to have OCD, your psychiatrist has prescribed you with necessary medications. When you take these medications, certain symptoms of OCD could become manageable. If any medicine that you are taking is making you feel uncomfortable in any way, consult with your psychiatrist and I am sure he/she would change it if necessary. I request that you talk to your doctor regarding it or even go for a secondary consult with another psychiatrist if it helps you feel better.

During this Pandemic there is a huge increase in OCD problems.  My suggestion is to consult Psychiatrist and Clinical Psychologist as well. CBT is very effective method of treatment in your case. Thus instead of delaying,visit or consult as soon as possible.

Hi, To diagnosis is to what one is going through. How it was triggered? Since how long one is struggling with it? What is the intensity mild, moderate or severe. Diagnosis is the initial steps.

As mentioned by other clinical Psychologist OCD is indeed a serious mental illness. The primary treatment is medication along with psychotherapy. Various approaches had been used to treat Patients with OCD by clinical Psychologist, CBT & clinical hypnotherapy has been given a great results.

As you have been diagnosed with OCD, you need proper medication to get better with it. And psychotherapy to deal with the behaviour issues. As a first step I would suggest you to note down what are the thoughts that come to your mind and then the behaviour that you to do get rid of the thoughts. From extreme unbearable to the least.

If you have been diagnosed,then you have two choices, either to consult a psychiatrist for pharmacological management and/or clinical psychologist for therapeutic management. Any psychiatric medication takes time to work and if the client experiences any issues, must reach out to the psychiatrist. Dear, OCD is a chronic disorder where a person has an uncontrollable reoccurring thoughts and behaviours. For better result, it is advice to take medication as well as therapy for treating OCD. CBT and Exposure therapy are best suited for OCD treatment. Working with the therapist will help you to break down your problems into separate parts, such as your thoughts, physical feelings and actions. It will also encourage you to face your fear.

OCD is an illness which includes 3 parts of the brain. Along with the obsessions, that are intrusive thoughts which causes a lot of anxiety, and compulsions which are actions done( in your case cleaning yourself), OCD is also a problem of excessive imagination.
