Ipecac is in no way going to help improve appetite. Is is easy to prescribe an appetizer like Alfa Alfa. However treating the cause is more appropriate. Example poor appetite can be due to some infection or fever or constipation or sore mouth or excess intake of biscuits or excess intake of milk/ breast milk.

However the underlying cause of the appetite should be found.
