Yes, definitely it's a minimum effective dose of escitalopram. As per your weight and age, 10 mg is prescribed usually. There is no addiction potential and side effects on this dose even if continued for a long time. However, if you think that after continuing 12 months, your symptoms improve and your functioning well, you can gradually taper and completely stop * under follow up " of your psychiatrist. Recurrence or relapse of symptoms may occur or may not, it depends on various factors * Genetic make up of individual * Family history of psychiatric illness * Stressors at that time * Addiction habit * Life style

Thanks for reaching out. Generally antidepressants are tapered off after a while of maintaining stable mood. Nobody will prescribe the same antidepressant for life long if you don’t improve. Ideally after you start to maintain a stable mood, it will be tapered off and stopped. Anxiety can relapse if you stop meds abruptly or adjust the dose by yourself. Can also relapse if treated for inadequate duration.
Health Tips
Do not self medicate or alter your dosage

Hi, Thanks for sharing your concern. When prescribed and monitored by a psychiatrist, Nexito can be safe for long-term use. But medication is just one part of healing. Therapy helps you build coping skills so you’re not fully dependent on medication in the long run. Tapering after 12 months is possible but whether anxiety returns depends on your inner work, stress levels, and life triggers. Many clients feel more empowered when they combine medication with therapy. Warmly, Seema Lal Counseling Psychologist

Any of the antidepressant should be tapered depending on the regression of your symptoms . There is nothing like taking life long medications for anxiety . Kindly consult your psychiatrist and discuss your symptoms properly before increasing decreasing of stopping the medication
