Hi,
I mistakenly reused same needle which my father-in-law uses for his diabetic test using glucometer. I was testing the functionality and it pricked, blood also came out.
What can I do to fix this ?
Should I be worried ?

Repeated use of needles not advisable.
Need to take needle prick prophylaxis if he is suffering from Hep b, hep c or Hiv
As needle using without aseptic precautions
Need to take TT INJECTION also.
You should be worried. Yes
Normally nothing will happen but theoretically it can be a disaster. Any infection can be transmitted to you.
As for now you can clean the area with spirit and apply betadine 10% lotion 2-3 times at gap of 4 hours.
Using a needle twice on two different people isnt advisable. However, what is important is if your father in law is Disease free ie he doesn't have HIV, Hepatitis etc if he doesn't have any of these illnesses, you shall not worry.
If he does have any illness that you think can be transmitted via sharing needles, kindly apply for an appointment to discuss further line of treatment.
