Hi! Pain in neck and shoulders is mainly due to Postural fault or muscles fatigue. You need to get Cervical X ray done. For instant relief I recommend to go for ACOUSTIC WAVES TREATMENT. This will reduce pain instantly. It is the advance treatment of Physiotherapy and is not available everywhere. We are only few doctors in India who have this facility. I am practising this. ACOUSTIC WAVES will surely give you instant and long term relief.

Working continuously by sitting in front of your laptop can be the reason for your ache and discomfort. If your left hand is also being effected with it , it can be cervical spondilitis. This occurs due to wrong posture. To get rid of this problem, you have to correct your posture that this problem may not increase. You can use hot water bag twice or thrice a day at the effected area. Stop using pillow. Lay on plane surface. You can use cervical pillow if you can't sleep without pillow. The exercise you can apply yourself is just put your head hanging from your hard bed and touch your chin for 10 times at a time to your chest. Soft shoulder massage will be effective. And you can wear cervical collar too while working in front of your laptop.
Next Steps
if this doesn't work then you may go for the cervical x ray. and consult a near by physio.
Health Tips
wear cervical collar and apply hot water bag to the effected area. in case of severe pain, you can have  aceclofenac  tab.

since the pandemic most of us have to do work from home which means sitting in front of screens for long duration because of which our working posture get a little disturbed. although its nothing to panic about , but consulting a physiotherapist would be a lot more helpful. and since its not a very severe issue it can definitely be consulted online . Although for the time applying ice would relieve you from pain and would relax your muscles as well
