Above mentioned history is insufficient to arrive at a diagnosis. Would like to know a few more details to be able to help you better and come up with a definitive answer , along with a few investigations. Meanwhile you can take some oral muscle relaxant/ NSAID(in absence of any contraindications) . Please consult me on Practo for further course of action.

If it is occurring frequently then it can be a pain of cervical spondylitis. Is it radiating towards your shoulders, forearms or fingers? Kindly consult with apt history for better management.

It looks to me like it could be due to abnormal sleep posture or the type of mattress u are using that could be causing the pain.
Next Steps
So do try sleeping in side face rather than up or down face and check on it and try to change to a mattress that gives support to your neck. And if pain still persists Apply Priox gel over the neck region to give good relief.
Health Tips
Make sure to get adequate rest and don't do any strenuous activities.
