Dr. Do I really need a CT scan for nasal polyps? Please Suggest what is the right time for a CT Scan?

The photo you have uploaded is showing inferior turbinate and is not a polyp. Turbinates are integral part of the nose. Coming to polyps, CT scan is must and done after steroids course so as to get better idea of sinuses and their openings. Surgery is required for nasal polyps.

Ct scan helps to see the extent of disease and also helps ent surgeon to diagnose and plan management according to it. Ct can be done as soon as diagnosis is confirmed by ent specialist
