Its better to save the tooth rather than removing.  Your child is 4yrs old even the earliest permanent tooth will erupt around the age of 6-6.5yrs
Next Steps
visit a pedodontist. depending on the tooth and clinical condition discuss the treatment. I am a pedodontist in thane. you can consult me

It depends upon which tooth is involved,it's always better to save the tooth,if u remove the tooth there are chances  of malalignment of permanent teeth,so visit a dentist  and follow his advise

Depends on which tooth is involved. If it is a tooth that will go later at the age of 10 or so then it is better to do a Root canal and preserve it. Early removal may cause the permanent teeth to not erupt in a proper alignment as the space may close by then.
Health Tips
Discuss with your dentist the pros and cons of the treatment and choose wisely.
