Cough in a child should always be evaluated by a pediatrician, because sometimes the warning signs can be missed. When assessing cough, we look at how frequent it is, the type or nature of cough, and also examine the chest (auscultation) to check if there is any congestion or underlying issue.
That’s why it’s always safer to consult a pediatrician—either by visiting one nearby or arranging a video consultation. When it comes to children, getting a doctor’s opinion is the best step.
