Hi there ...these are all rumors that alcohal containing mouthwashes can cause oral cancer...no evidence support that...Listerine contains alcohal but its not harmful... But I feel the best mouthrinse is leukwarm salt water.. If u want some commercial mouthrinse ..then Colgate plax, or any herbal mouthrinse can be used... Take care ...!!

There is no scientific evidence to support alcohol mouth rhinse can cause oral cancer. Advantage in India is that we are home to herbal extracts and medicines. Herbal mouth washes containing aloe vera seems to be showing a lot of benefits and are as good as any commercially available mouth washes.

Hi there...medically there are betadine and cholrhecidine mouth washes available. But these are used in conditions like oral ulcers, oral candidiasis, where they prevent any secondary infections. However if they are used as regular mouth washes for normal oral cavity, they can kill normal oral mucosa flora and reduce the immunity provided by normal oral mucosa. This in turn can make oral.cavity prone to infections. So try to avoid using such mouth washes regularly. Brush your teeth twice daily and rinse your mouth regularly. Avoid sweets before bed. Hope this helps you.
