The broken tooth if it is painful, we have to do the root canal treatment followed by cap, but if it is for the wisdom tooth, then we have to go for extraction
If it doesn’t have pain, then we can restore it
It’s better if you can check with the dentist or Please share the picture for proper diagnosis and treatment

If majority of the tooth structure is lost you can have it extracted if it is due to caries.
