Hi, I understand that you are feeling lonely and you don’t want to feel alone. You feel uncomfortable about not having anyone to talk to. You want to feel good and calm. Do not worry you can share about what you are going through with a psychologist. To feel good you can indulge in your favourite hobbies such as reading, music, and so on. You can get some fresh air it will help you stay calm. You can treat yourself with your favourite food or nice cup of tea or coffee. You can maintain a gratitude journal and write about your blessings and the things you are grateful for.

Hello there! I hear you! I understand how difficult it must have been for you to deal with feeling lonely. Loneliness is something that is extremely hard to deal with, but let me tell you that you have taken a step in the right direction by reaching out for help. Most individuals do not realise it when they need help, so I am proud of you for having the courage to ask for help. The best thing for you to do is obviously therapy since it would guide you to deal with your thoughts professionally and help you manage your concern better. Since you already know that counselling is the best step for you, here are some steps you can take while you figure out your therapy plan: Join a class or a club that you are interested in - It might be a little uncomfortable at first, but eventually you’ll have a group of people to interact with about your area of interest and this will create a feeling of security and belongingness and rid you of loneliness. Engage in some Volunteer work: This has similar benefits as joining a class. In addition to those, it also creates a higher level of happiness and satisfaction contribution to a higher quality of living. Interacting with fellow volunteers also creates a community to interact. Find support online: There are a number of support groups for loneliness. Being a part of this will help you interact with others going through similar journeys as you are and let you know that you aren’t alone in your quest to get through this. Strengthening existing relationships : Make time for your loved ones and take the effort to do activities together. Whether it is your family member you lost touch with or a long lost friend, try to catch up. Let them know how you are and find out what has been going on in theirs. Get a pet: This can do wonders! Taking care of a pet and being in it’s company will make you feel a lot less lonely. It can be a little scary to get out of your comfort zone to take these steps, but in the end it will all be worth it! Stay Strong, you’ve got this!

Dear human, thank you for sharing and reaching out. I understand that you're going through a difficult time in your life but I appreciate you for reaching out, it takes courage. As you've mentioned, it's a good idea to seek therapy for your concerns as you would get a safe space to express yourself, share your concerns and to heal without facing any judgements. Meanwhile you could follow some techniques to cope with your mental health concerns: 1. Practice journalling - Write down your thoughts exactly as is daily. Spend some time for journalling daily as it helps to vent your thoughts, emotions and feelings in a healthy way, and also reflect on your thoughts to understand what exactly is bothering you. 2. Practice mindfulness - Being mindful meaning being present at the moment without thinking about past or future. Even if thoughts flow through, we tend to accept it in a non-judgemental manner rather than ignoring or suppressing it. You can practice mindfulness through grounding techniques like 5-4-3-2-1, where in you can name five things that you see around you, four things that you can hear, three things that you can touch, two things that you can smell and one thing that you can taste. Also a breathing technique - 4-7-8 wherein you inhale for four seconds, hold breath for seven second and exhale for eight seconds. 3. Exercise everyday - Adopt any form of physical movement that is most suitable for you. If you're opting for workout, create attainable fitness goals and follow a proper diet. This is a healthy way to channelize your emotions. 4. Try art journal - Journalling not necessarily involves only writing, it also involves drawing, painting, creating collages, etc. You could draw/paint whatever you feel like at the moment just to express yourself. You don't have to be an artist to maintain an art journal, just go with flow.
