Phimosis is a condition in which the foreskin cannot be fully retracted over the glans penis. It may be physiological, especially in young children, or pathological due to recurrent infections (balanitis/balanoposthitis), poor hygiene, scarring or inflammation such as lichen sclerosus, diabetes, repeated forceful retraction, or trauma.
