Get on peripheral blood smear examination done to confirm they are low or not. Sometimes machine miss giant platelets and high MPV does not get included in the platelet count. Once peripheral smear examination also confirms platelets are low, then you need follow-up.

I don't think that you need to be worried about 117k platelet count. What I would suggest is: 1) Watch out for any active bleed (including dark brown stool/sputum/vomitus). 2) Repeat CBC after 1-2 days to ensure that it's not a declining trend. In case any of the above two occur, consult a doctor immediately.

From the Complete Blood Count report you shared: • Hemoglobin: 13.4 g/dL – normal • RBC count: 4.38 million/µL – slightly on the lower side but still close to normal • Platelet count: 117,000/µL – mildly low (normal usually 150,000–450,000) • WBC and differential counts – normal A platelet count of 117,000 is called mild thrombocytopenia, but if you have no symptoms like bleeding gums, nosebleeds, or easy bruising, it is often temporary and can occur after a recent viral infection, stress, or nutritional deficiencies. Your hemoglobin and red cell indices are normal, so the slightly low RBC count alone is usually not clinically significant.
Next Steps
• Repeat the Complete Blood Count again after 2–3 weeks to see if platelet count improves. • If platelets drop further or remain low, a doctor may check Peripheral Blood Smear, Vitamin B12 Test, or Folate Test. • Seek medical evaluation urgently if you notice bleeding, purple spots on skin, or frequent bruising.
Health Tips
Foods that support platelet production and healthy blood cells include: • Papaya leaf extract or papaya fruit (commonly used for platelet support) • Pomegranate and beetroot for iron and antioxidants • Green leafy vegetables like spinach and broccoli • Dates, raisins, and jaggery for iron support • Eggs, fish, and dairy for protein and vitamin B12 Also ensure adequate hydration, proper sleep, and avoid alcohol or unnecessary painkillers like NSAIDs which may affect platelets. In many young individuals, mild platelet reduction improves on its own. If you want, you can book an online consultation and share whether you had recent fever, viral illness, or medications, so I can guide you more precisely on whether this needs further evaluation.
