Hello, diagnosed with low lying placenta at my 20 week scan with anterior right placenta leading edge measuring 10mm away the internal os. As not covering the cervix I was only advised to avoid strenuous movements and haven't had any spotting/bleeding until now. I had a travel booked for UK when I will be 26 weeks and 29 weeks at the time of return. While I wont need a fit to fly at 26 weeks, I wanted to get an opinion of what is the risk of flying in this condition?

The risk of bleeding during flying is as much as the risk for bleeding when you are not flying. And no one can predict with certainty what is the risk of bleeding in such cases.
Is there any history of previous cesarean section?
If so then as compared to others there will be somewhat less chances that it w thank you
It’s common for the placenta to be low on the 12- or 20-week scan. By 28–32 weeks in about 90% of cases, the placenta is no longer low because the lower segment of the uterus stretches upward, carrying the placental edge with it.
Re-check scan:
Doctors usually schedule a follow-up ultrasound around 28 weeks (sometimes again at 32–34 weeks) to confirm its position.
Next Steps
Get it checked again before flying incase if it remains the same there will always remain a risk of bleeding through vagina irrespective of flying or not
Would advise you to avoid air travel unless absolutely necessary. Flights may cause pressure changes which may exacerbate your condition. Risks include bleeding, abruption ,preterm labour.
Next Steps
1.Do an ultrasound there is a good chance your placenta might have migrated.
2.If it is more than 2 cm away from the os you are good to go
Health Tips
If flying due to unavoidable reasons watch for abd pain, cramps, bleeding and decreased perception of fetal movements
