I used to have 11.5 hb before pregnancy. It went to 10.5 at the start of 3rd trimester and is now 9.7 towards the end - I am due in feb second week.
My gynaec prescribed 3 IV injections but still it went low.
I am taking iron tablet daily. Only 2-3 doses might have been missed.
What could be the reason?
What needs to be done? Is the injection really effective?
How severe is this? I fear i will get unconscious during labour.

At a hemoglobin of 9.7 you do not require injections
You need investigations to find out the reason for low hemoglobin if you have been regular with the intake of medication
