Loose motion for 8 years boy
My son had fever and a urine infection earlier. He was given Taxim-O for a week before the circumcision. After the surgery, he was prescribed Amoxicillin and Ibuprofen syrup. Later, he complained of gastritis, so we were advised to give Laprazole before food whenever required.
On the 4th day after surgery, he developed high fever along with diarrhea, and he also has throat pain while swallowing. The pediatrician mentioned that diarrhea could be due to the antibiotics and prescribed antibiotics for diarrhea then prebiotic syrup as well. His throat looks red, but he does not have any symptoms of cold.
I just wanted to confirm whether the throat pain could also be related to acidity or antibiotic effects rather than a cold. Could you please advise if we should continue the same medicines or if anything additional is needed?

Yes, the pediatrician is right. As he already been taking the prescribed medicines there is no need of any changes. But you should also be aware of the fact that just prescribing medicine will not make him symptoms free immediately. The body will take some time to recover. To adjust the normal biological functions of the body. During this time he needs to eat healthy, follow healthy regimen, and avoid over medications. Throat pain could be mostly due to gastritis only.... Its common senerio after taking antibiotic.. My opinion is to continue antibiotic, healing of penis is most important otherwise chance to get infection and scar formation which complicate him later.
Once his wound is heeled stop all allopathic medications and better to take Homoeopathy to regain his immunity and correct his stomach and throat....

Hi, I understand your concern. After circumcision, children often receive multiple antibiotics, and it is quite common for the stomach and throat to get affected due to the medicines rather than an infection.
From your description:
✅ Loose motions – This is very likely due to antibiotic-associated diarrhea, because antibiotics disturb gut flora.
✅ Throat pain with red throat – This can happen from:
• acidity/gastritis caused by antibiotics or ibuprofen
• dryness due to fever
• mild irritation, not necessarily a cold
It does not sound like a cold, especially since there is no cough, no runny nose, and no congestion.
