Loneliness
I have been feeling very lonely lately. I haven't had any close friends from many years and it's affecting me now. I just want to open up but there is no one. I don't speak openly with my family members either. I have got a few friends but they have been busy with their work for a past few weeks and I am feeling lonely. It's always me who tries to start a conversation no one initiates it no one messages me. I feel like I am not remembered by anyone. I'm alone and useless.

Hi .. this is a very common problem with many people to find the group of like minded people. I cannot give you assurance , you will get friends. Though if you become your friend first and learn to be with your self in a happy manner. It may change things

Hi You are feeling lonely and you want to open up to someone. You feel you are alone and you have no one to talk to. I understand what you are going through. You want to have a friend with whom you can talk about anything. You can talk about how you feel with a psychologist. It is important to feel good about yourself.

It can be the primary symptom of depression. It needs to be treated asap otherwise it may get complicated. It can be well treated with counseling sessions and medication if required.

Hi... I will not suggest you to seek Therapy/Counselling to fulfil your loneliness, as it is not meant to replace social/personal relationships or to fulfil one's emotional needs. Therapy is meant to bring change from within and to help a person better adjust to his own thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and his/her environment. Your presenting issues (loneliness, low self esteem, high need for affiliation) might be just out of your introversion and more because of this pandemic situation/restrictions. Lot of people are suffering from similar issues and are gravely effected by the Pandemic. People have lost lives, livelihood, jobs, homes, properties, businesses. We are all finding it difficult to deal with this kind of an environment. So, that way I do not see your issues as any deviance from the normal. But still there are no prerequisite to seek professional help. You can always consult a Psychologist and address your concerns in a therapeutic setting.
