Recently my friend ran a liver function test and the bilirubin values are a little higher than the specified range( 1.49, 0.39 and 1.10). Also the SGOT (38) and SGPT (52) are slightly higher than the mentioned levels. GGT reads 101. BUN is at 8. Should this be addressed? He travels a lot and eats on irregular timings, is this of a concern ?

Hi!
Mild elevations in bilirubin, SGOT, SGPT, and GGT are common with travel and irregular eating. 😊 not serious and settles with lifestyle improvements.
Feel free to consult for proper interpretation and advice. 👍
The mildly raised SGPT (52) and elevated GGT (101) suggest some liver stress â this can happen from irregular meals, fatty food, or alcohol. The bilirubin is only slightly above normal and not a major concern right now, but GGT at 101 needs attention.
Next Steps
Get an ultrasound abdomen done to check for fatty liver. Eat at regular timings, reduce fried and junk food, and avoid alcohol. Feel free to consult me directly on Practo for a detailed evaluation.
