Hello,
Thank you for sharing your concern.
A lipoma is a benign (non-cancerous) growth of fatty tissue, and it's actually quite common. From what youâve mentioned â that itâs been there for 2â3 years, hasnât increased in size, and is not painful â itâs very likely harmless.
Here are a few key points to reassure you:
Lipomas are typically not dangerous and rarely turn cancerous.
They usually grow slowly, if at all.
If itâs soft to touch, moves slightly under the skin, and remains painless, it fits the classic description of a simple lipoma.
However, it's still a good idea to have it clinically examined at least once, just to be sure â especially since it's been a few years. In rare cases, a firm, rapidly growing, or painful lump might need further evaluation (like an ultrasound or FNAC) to rule out other types of tissue growth.
You donât need to worry based on your current description, but Iâd be happy to take a closer look via a consultation and help you decide if any follow-up is needed or if you can just leave it alone.
Need few more details for proper understanding of your issue.

Lipoma is a harmless tumor made of fat cells. But sometimes it may cause pain or cosmetic problems. In that case you have to remove it. Surgery of that is a simple day care surgery. No need to be worried.
You have a lipoma, which is a harmless (benign) lump made of fat cells under the skin.
Your lipoma has been present for 3 years, and it has not changed in size and is not painful.
This is a common and non-cancerous condition.
Next Steps
Lipomas usually do not need treatment unless they cause pain, grow rapidly, or bother you for cosmetic reasons.
Surgery can remove it if you wish, but it is not necessary at this time.
Health Tips
Contact again if you notice:
The lump growing quickly.
New pain, redness, or warmth over the lump.
Hardening, ulceration, or changes in the skin over the lump.
Any new similar lumps appearing elsewhere.

Follow-up:
Routine check-up in 6–12 months, or earlier if you notice any of the above changes.
Hello ma'am.
Lipomas are usually benign accumulation of fat tissue which is called adipose tissue most of the time asymptomatic..
Unless there are any symptoms like pain around it or skin changes around it, pain on touching it which is tenderness etc do not worry..
It would be even more helpful if u had mentioned the size of it approximately..
Next Steps
Keep an eye on its size and for any symptoms u might experience..
Lipoma is like small harmless growth. So unless it’s causing you any symptoms there is no problem at all. You can get it removed if you wish to. And it doesn’t bother you then it’s alright, it is harmless.
Lipoma is harmless .no need to worry . If it is cosmetic problem you can do minor procedure like excision .it is a day care procedure . If it doesn't cause any problem you can leave as it is . It is harmless.
**Likely harmless abdominal lipoma given stable size & no pain. Typically requires no treatment, only monitoring. Consult a to confirm diagnosis and discuss management.
Since the lipoma has remained stable in size, is asymptomatic, and shows no concerning features (such as rapid enlargement, fixation to underlying structures, pain, or ulceration). No active treatment is necessary at present.
Health Tips
Patient to consult physician if swelling increases rapidly, becomes painful, hard, or fixed.
Lipomas as such do not pose any threat to you, nor can they transform into cancer. But if you feel it starts growing or causes some pressure you can get it removed for cosmetic purpose. If it’s not bothering you you can be rest assured it’s harmless
If there is no any symptoms like abdominal pain, skin colour change, etc.so don't worry about it.This is not a major issue.Actually the lipoma is a benign (non-cancerous) tumor made of fat cells.Just go through the consultant for abdominal examination.
And observe the growth of the lipoma for a year.
Just for the cosmetic purpose you can also go through the minor surgery like lipoma excision if you want.
