Allergic reactions, either to foods, medications, or other substances, can often be accompanied by swelling of the lips.Sudden swelling of the lips is a common symptom of angioedema, an allergic reaction that is believed to be triggered by eating shellfish, exposure to animal dander and ingestion of certain medications.Angioedema sometimes accompanies medical conditions such as lupus and lymphoma..

Yes you should keep a track of all the foods he is taking and should check when symptoms are occurring. This is something you should worry about because he must stay away from that allergy causing food. If such food is consumed in high quantities might lead to more pruritus, itching, swelling for prolonged time. Hope this helps
Hello
It looks like allergic reaction. Get his allergy test done if it's not been done till now so that you come to know about exact allergen. You can also opt for Homoeopathic medicine because it is symptom based.
I would advise you to follow your treating doctor's advise also if he hasn't been dewormed in 6 months he should get dewormed. He should keep an observant eye to see during consumption of which food or exposure to which environment causes it or you could also do an allergen test.
