Your symptoms — burning/tingling in feet and arms, cervical pain, thumb tightness, and prolonged shoulder burning — strongly suggest cervical radiculopathy (nerve compression at C5-C6 level), possibly combined with peripheral neuropathy. Poor concentration and back pain from prolonged sitting are common accompanying features.
Next Steps
Get a cervical spine MRI and nerve conduction study (NCS/EMG). Consult a neurologist. Avoid prolonged sitting — take a break every 30 minutes. Consult me on Practo for further guidance.

Hello. Based on your description, your symptoms are more suggestive of a musculoskeletal or nerve-related problem (such as cervical radiculopathy, peripheral neuropathy, or muscle strain) than a heart problem. Anxiety can also cause palpitations and make symptoms feel more severe. However, it is not possible to rule out a cardiac cause without an examination, especially if the pain is persistent or associated with chest pain, breathlessness, sweating, nausea, or dizziness.
Next Steps
Avoid prolonged sitting and maintain proper neck posture. Apply a warm compress to the neck and shoulder region. Perform gentle neck stretching exercises if the pain is not severe. Schedule an in-person evaluation with a physician/neurologist. You may require a neurological examination and, depending on the findings, tests such as blood glucose, vitamin B12, thyroid profile, and possibly cervical spine imaging. Please seek emergency medical care immediately if you develop chest pain, severe shortness of breath, profuse sweating, fainting, or pain radiating to the jaw or left arm, as these require urgent evaluation. Take care and wish you a speedy recovery

Your symptoms are much more characteristic of spinal nerve compression (such as cervical radiculopathy) and anxiety than an acute cardiac event, though a medical evaluation is recommended to give you complete peace of mind. Here is a breakdown of why your symptoms point toward a nerve/spinal cause and what steps you should take: Why a Nerve or Spinal Cause is More Likely Positional Relief: Cardiac pain typically does not improve or worsen when you shift sleeping positions (like moving to your right side) or straighten your legs. The fact that posture changes relieved your pain strongly indicates mechanical spinal or nerve involvement. Widespread Neurological Symptoms: Your history of burning feet, tingling, cervical spine issues, and bilateral arm involvement suggests a chronic nerve issue—such as cervical radiculopathy or peripheral neuropathy—rather than a localized heart problem. Anxiety and Palpitations: Searching symptoms online triggered an adrenaline rush, raising your heart rate. Your ability to calm your heart rate through deep breathing confirms that the rapid heartbeat was an anxiety response rather than a primary cardiac rhythm issue. When to Seek Emergency Care (Red Flag Symptoms) While your description aligns with nerve irritation, you should go to the nearest emergency room immediately if you experience: Severe chest pain, tightness, heaviness, or pressure (like an elephant sitting on your chest). Pain radiating directly from the chest to your jaw, neck, or back. Shortness of breath, cold sweats, unexplained nausea, or lightheadedness. Recommended Next Steps Schedule a Doctor’s Visit: Consult a neurologist, orthopedist, or primary care provider to evaluate your cervical spine and nerves. They may order a cervical MRI or nerve conduction studies (EMG). Get a Baseline ECG: Ask your doctor for a routine Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG). Having a clear result can help ease health-related anxiety regarding your heart. Practice Ergonomics: Avoid prolonged sitting without back/neck support, and maintain gentle posture awareness while working or resting.
