Knee pain & swelling
Hello, My mom is having knee pain & swelling in her right leg knee. Due to which she is unable to walk for long & stand for long. It pains also. In medicines, she takes Drise 60K tablets once a week. So can you please tell how can she treat this, she has taken D3 injections few months back, but it gets well temporary. Now again she has got knee pain. What will help to treat this joint pain? And is knee pad good to wear or not? Kindly help Thank you.

This treatment is being suggested on bases of the information provided. However I would like to examine & investigate your  mother in detail. -Control  Hypertension, Diabetes or  metabolic disorder, if there is any. --. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding. --. Keep no pillow under the head. --. Avoid painful acts & activities. --. Fomentation with warm water. Let the part not be exposed to cold. -- .Do mild exercises for the affected part.- back and lower limbs. --.(Take help of physiotherapist or you can visit my YouTube channel Dr. N. C. You can use knee support. The pain is most probably due to osteoarthritis- but needs to be confirmed with detailed history and physical examination followed by relevant investigations.

Knee cap can give some kind of support and reduce the pain to an extent, but the definitive management would require her to take a x ray of knee and further evaluate.
