Knee Pain After dislocation
Hello, I recently dislocate my patella. It was popped back in but it is very swollen and I can not lift my leg. I have scheduled an mri however I have to wait for the results. Any ideas on what it may be? there is no break, and I cannot bear much weight

You might have ruptured Mediclaim patellar retinaculum and MPFL. You need to take absolute rest and keep knee immobilised in a knee immobiliser for 6 weeks. Keep lower limb elevated and apply ice packs locally.

MRI confirms the injury and helps planning treatment. Do not bear weight over inured knee. You can do non weight bearing walking.
