Patella fracture - left knee
Dear Sirs, I met with a car accident and left knee got injured. The MRI shows comminuted patella fracture. Left knee is bit swollen. Can walk or lift the leg. Taking painkillers and antibiotics. Wearing the knee immobilizer also. Is there any non surgical option available to treat this? Appreciate your advice on this. Attaching the xray plate and MRI report.

Yes this could be treated conservatively.. No need to go for surgery.. have some ice packs.. Non weight bearing for 3 weeks.. after that start walking slowly.. after that pain might come on and off.. no need to worry

Knee immobilizer is enough,  continue it for 6-8weeks. Only thing is never bend your knee without knee immobilizer. Get repeat xray or CT after a month or 6weeks to see for union and then u can start mobilization of your knee
