A femur shaft fracture takes time to heal. Also the place and screw put might restrict movement but knee bending exercises if initiated immediately post op then stiffness won't set in.Be patient, continue exercising, only movement will help in restoring the range but don't forcefully bend it. If You have something called arthrofibrosis of the knee then you will need to undergo surgery to break the adhesions
Next Steps
consult  a Physiotherapist
Health Tips
only repetitively doing the exercises will help with the physios help

Quadriceps strengthening exercises- Quad Clenches: Lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, Hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short Arcs: Lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight Leg Raise: Lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

Hello, I saw your Radiograph, it seems like surgery went well as internal fixator is well aligned , also the bone formation process has started. Which is a good sign. Approx 12 weeks post surgery you should have gained the full knee bending and straightening, considering your age.  But as you said if it is not bending beyond 90° you need a to targeted exercises and joint mobilization. With which a therapist can help you. I hope this helps. Thanks
Next Steps
consult a therapist.
Health Tips
☆don't go for treks unless you feel confident.

Hello, We are here to assist you with your questions. It's very important to get exercises prescribed from a physiotherapist following surgery, so that your knee would be given the appropriate exercises to function normally. You need to visit a physiotherapist soon and get your self checked for the reason of stiffness. If you are using a pillow under your knee, kindly refrain from doing so.
Next Steps
Please consult a Physiotherapist and start exercises
