Thank you for sharing the details. Anal itching (pruritus ani) can have various causes even in the absence of injury or visible lesions. Since you’ve already taken deworming medication with only temporary relief, persistent symptoms may point to other possible causes such as: • Fungal or yeast infections • Local irritation due to soaps, wipes, or detergents • Excess moisture or sweating • Hemorrhoids (even if internal and not visible) • Skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis A local antifungal cream or a mild steroid cream (like hydrocortisone) might help, but it is best to use these only after clinical evaluation.
Next Steps
• Visit a general physician or dermatologist for a physical examination. • A stool test may help rule out persistent parasitic infection. • Avoid using scented or harsh soaps in the anal region. • Use soft toilet paper and avoid excessive wiping. • Consider wearing loose, cotton underwear to reduce moisture and friction.
Health Tips
• Do not scratch the area as it can worsen irritation and cause infection. • If symptoms worsen or if you notice bleeding, lumps, or discharge, seek medical care immediately. • Repeat deworming may be considered after 2 weeks, depending on your doctor’s advice.
