Hi, Tremors are more likely to be a side effect of OCD medications rather than OCD itself. Many commonly used OCD medicines (especially SSRIs, clomipramine, or dose increases) can cause fine hand tremors, particularly in the first few weeks of treatment. OCD as a condition does not usually cause tremors, unless they are related to anxiety, inner restlessness, or medication effects. Since your tremors started after beginning treatment (around 2-3 weeks), a medication-related cause is more likely.
Next Steps
• Do not stop the medicine on your own • Inform your treating psychiatrist about the tremors • Dose adjustment, timing change, or a supportive medication may be advised • Tremors often reduce on their own as the body adjusts
Health Tips
• Avoid excess tea, coffee, or caffeine, which can worsen tremors • Manage anxiety and ensure adequate sleep • Seek urgent review if tremors are severe, worsening, or associated with stiffness or restlessness For more queries, Reach out for an online or in-person consultation: 📞 NEURONAL FIX CLINIC, RAMPRASTHA COLONY, Ghaziabad, (near Shreshtha Vihar, Delhi)- +91- 74XX52XX97XX67XX61

20 days onset of symptoms seems to indicate that the tremor could be because of the medication, however it would depend upon which medications you are on and how the dosing has been done. Slow titration under supervision can reduce the risk of unnecessary side effects
Next Steps
consult a psychiatrist for determining the possible cause of the new onset tremors
Health Tips
Do not discontinue medication suddenly without consulting a doctor first

Short, patient-friendly reply (as psychiatrist): Tremors are more commonly a side effect of OCD medications rather than OCD itself. Many medicines used for OCD (especially SSRIs or clomipramine), particularly in the first few weeks or after a dose increase, can cause mild hand tremors. Since your tremors started after beginning treatment, they are likely medication-related. Do not stop the medicine on your own. Please inform your treating psychiatrist—dose adjustment, timing change, or a supportive medicine can help. In most cases, tremors reduce as the body adjusts over time. If tremors are severe, worsening, or associated with other symptoms, seek review sooner.

What medicine are you taking . OCD is usually treated with SSRI like fluoxetine or Sertraline , or tricyclic antidepressants like clomipramine . If the tremors have started after you started taking the medicine it could likely be due to he Medicine . You might have to discuss with your psychiatrist to lower the dose or choose an alternative medicine
