I have lower jaw pain, under the ear pain for 2 months. I also have swelling in the jaw line for 2 months. Been to many dentist and taken multiple xrays. No definite diagnosis yet. My dentist took CT scan, panaromic xray and bite wing, periapical x-ray.
Went to another dentist for second opinion. They also took many x-rays. No one is willing to see the x-ray images which I have got from previous office. So this makes more exposure to x-ray images.I have been to oral surgeon and he took CBCT/pan xray before the wisdom tooth removal. I removed it ten days back.
Went for a follow up today. Took another CT scan to check if everything is ok.
So, multiple CT scan, pan x-ray and bite wings and periapical xrays in a month. I feel so nervous about it. Is it harmful?
My issue is still present. The same jaw pain under the ear and top of the neck with swelling. So my oral surgeon told me to go to TMJ specialist to check it and also to Endodontist to see if I have a crack on low first molar.

Trust your doctor. Don’t change your doctor vey frequently. Yes xrays are harmful but for proper diagnosis and treatment plan you have to undergo the required imaging.
Too many xrays are scary but with Digital xrays, the dosage is minimal. If you share the xrays and photos we can give our opinion.
Also give your age
If any injury on the jaw line
Is the swelling increases while eating ?
Any medical issues like Diabetes, HT
Does the pain migrate to the head or down to neck.
