Jaw pain and headache

Hey my last molars is paining and my dentist does not find anything in the x ray he also tested for bite test and hot and cold test but could not find anything but the pain is happening very real and that part of head is also aching so bandly what should be the next step the wisdom tooth of this side has been removed 2 years ago

The symptoms are genuine, but because the X-ray, bite test, and thermal tests are currently inconclusive, the exact source of pain has not yet been established. A cracked tooth, periodontal problem, occlusal trauma, referred pain, or a non-odontogenic cause should be considered.

Next Steps

A detailed clinical examination should be repeated, including cusp-by-cusp bite testing, periodontal probing, percussion, palpation, occlusal assessment and transillumination for cracks. The adjacent teeth should also be tested for comparison. If dental findings remain normal, consider further evaluation for non-dental causes of the headache/facial pain rather than starting RCT or extraction without a confirmed diagnosis.

Do not proceed with root canal treatment or extraction solely on the basis of pain when objective dental findings are absent. Seek urgent dental/medical assessment if swelling, fever, difficulty opening the mouth, swallowing or breathing develops.

Ask your doctor to check the occlusion ( bite force). It should relieve the pain and save tooth from further cracking. You might require root canal in future. If it is upper jaw, also check for sinus infection
