I have crooked teeth since childhood. Day before yesterday one of my teeth got broken from middle. I have to get a filling for that. The dentist said it happened because of my misaligned teeth.
I don't have any problem in eating. I have cavities fillings. I don't remember in how many teeth but I remember I have fillings and I am going to have one more filling for a broken tooth.
I don't want to get braces and I don't have any problem with my teeth on basis of how they look. I don't like sweet food so I don't eat much neither chocolates. I was told by a dentist if I eat something sweet anytime then I have to brush after eating and I do that every time I eat something sweet.
Is it important to get braces or get teeth aligned at this age (22)? What are the pros and cons of it?

Misaligned tooth can cause many problems like deposits of calculus, you won't be able to clean certain areas of tooth etc. So it's better or advisable to take treatment for them.
Not only your aesthetics will improve, general health of your tooth will improved. You can attach clear photographs of effected tooth for better guidance.
Still have queries then please consult with doctor online or offline for better guidance and treatment options.
Hello. Orthodontic treatment aligns teeth and corrects any crowding and malocclusion. You must consider orthodontic treatment, as it will not only enhance your aesthetic profile, but also improve oral hygiene which will further prevent cavities and tartar accumulation.
One of the major complications of crowded/crooked teeth is hampered oral hygiene- plaque and calculus (tartar) deposition, which further lead to unhealthy gums, gingivitis, periodontitis, bad breath (halitosis).
Orthodontic treatment includes metal/ceramic braces or invisible braces/aligners. You may opt for aligners as they are invisible and will take lesser time to complete the treatment.
Kindly visit an orthodontist for definitive diagnosis and treatment
Hello
Braces or orthodontic treatment is something that is done not only for aesthetic or appearance but also for the functional longevity of your teeth. I understood by reading your query that you are maintaining your oral hygiene very well but the malalignment of your teeth will make it all the more difficult for you to do so, and unintentionally unavoidably your teeth will always be prone to having more cavities due to their positioning. As far as the functional ability of the teeth is concerned you will get to know about it 10 years down the lane when your teeth will start moving or showing mobility earlier than they should because of their mal-positioning leading to their early shedding from your mouth. So yes definitely you should get your braces treatment done and your age is a good age to get the treatment done because as the age advances the bone modelling process of braces treatment will not be favourable.
