Intraepithelial lymphocytosis
Hi Doctors, I have had an indigestion issue for 2 years. The symptoms include smelly gas, mild constipation and mild burning sensation in the lower abdomen. I got an endoscopy and colonoscopy done and in the Endoscopy biopsy, I had IntraEpithelial Lymphocytosis. I have got a TTG test done it is negative. What can it be a sign of? Should I get more tests to check like haplotype dq for celiac or not? Is it normal to have this? Please advise.

Intraepithelial lymphocytosis can be caused by various diseases. autoimmune disorders, tropical sprue, food protein intolerance, Helicobacter pylori-associated gastritis, peptic duodenitis, parasitic and viral infections, as well as the development of intestinal lymphoma. There are series of test that can be done to find out the cause ..or it can be unknown at the end. So do not self investigate. Kindly consult with gastrophysician nearby for proper examination and evaluation.
