Implant removal problem.
I had a metal rod implant fixed in my femur bone to fix my fracture two years ago. I recently had a surgery for the implant removal. In my case out of the 4 screws which was fixed 2 in the hip & the other 2 on my knee...1 of the screw from my knee was half broken due to which the doctor said that the rod can't be removed as the half screw got stuck in the rod and while pulling out the rod that half nail comes and stucks in between hence blocking the movement of the rod further. Any solution?

Dear Sir, its always better if you share your x rays, implant removal is itself a very tricky surgery, and the possibility of it not getting removed should be always born in mind, the reason this happens is because your surgeon do not want to cause you harm by doing things that will remove your rod ,but in the process may break your bone, i come across many such cases where the surgeon takes it on his ego and removes the implant, in the meanwhile causing breakage of the bone, and increasing your disability, rather than improving your condition.
Next Steps
Share your x rays to see the possibility of implant removal.

Implant should be removed in such a scenario. Do not worry. Share x-rays.
