Get an xray done. Sometimes it can be removed easily sometimes it doesnt come out. Visit orthopaedic surgeon for the same. Complications only pertaining to surgery and implant breakage.

After 8 years why you want to remove it ? Is it causing any problem ? Yes it has few serious issue not all time .sometimes landed up in not removing the full implants
