Cramp-free and Hyocimax-S are both antispasmodics (dicyclomine/hyoscyamine type) - safe for short-term use in IBS-C, but they slow the gut, so in constipation-predominant IBS they can make you more bloated and blocked. They are also not the drugs for ulcerative colitis. For IBS-C the real work is fibre and water, isabgol at night, regular meals, and a stool softener/osmotic laxative rather than repeated antispasmodics. A year of one-sided lower left pain with normal ultrasound needs the colon looked at properly if there is any weight loss, blood, or night pain.
Next Steps
Use the antispasmodic only when pain flares, not daily, and add isabgol with adequate water. Consult me on Practo if the pain keeps returning - we will decide if a colonoscopy or a proper IBS regimen is due.
