Hypothyroidism
Hello. I'm a 21 year old female. I had been diagnosed with hypothyroidism in 2018 following which I was put on Thyronorm 50. Tsh at the time of diagnosis was 6.99. My TPO was negative. Does that mean I don't have Hashimoto's ? If not, then what caused hypothyroidism? Also, does me having Hypothyroidism put me at risk of Dilated Cardiomyopathy in the future? I saw a hypothyroid patient with DCM and it aggravated my anxiety. I'm so scared. I don't want to die.

Hi, You don't have Hashimoto's disease. However,  Hypothyroidism may be due to many causes including Iodine deficiency and idiopathic causes. If you have regular medicine and keep your TSH, T3, T4 under normal limits, you will never have DCM.
Health Tips
Never skip your your Thyroid medicine. Have Thyroid Profile regularly checked.
