Hi Yes he can take flaxseeds or flaxseed powder as well for increasing hdl and for cholesterol too.. As flaxseeds are rich essential fatty acids (EFA'S) like omega 3's...which are well known for heart health benefits.. And flaxseeds does no way have got any interference with hypothyroidism..medication.. Hence he can safely consume...it But flaxseeds alone won't help in getti g cholestrol under control.. Lifestyle modifications are also very important along with dietary management.. For increasing HDL...daily physical activity, nuts, flaxseeds, avocados, fish oil supplements ( under doctor's advise) , chicken , sea fish like salmon and Macarel if non-veg..etc are to be consumed..in moderate quantities... For further details contact through practo for a detailed analysis and customized diet plan.. Thankyou
Next Steps

Health Tips
Avoiding red meats, animal fats, whole milk, deep fried items, high energy health energy drinks, carbonated beverages, outside processed and packaged foods , saturated fats, trans fats etc to be completely reduced or avoided for lowering cholesterol and LDL...

Flax seeds are rich in omega 3 . It can be included in diet for hypothyroidism ( no known interaction with medication too) And if it’s for improving HDL, flax seed alone won’t create wonders. It’s all about the personalised diet plan..

Whether a person with  hypothyroid can have flax seeds or not is very individualized, although research  suggests  that the omega 3 fatty  acids present  in flax seeds can have a positive  impact towards cholesterol  levels The quantities  and frequency  of consumption  depends  on TSH status  so kindly  share the recent thyroid profile ,with Lipid profile   and his present food  consumption  pattern  and lifestyle  through practo  online consult.
