My 45year old brother have thyroid nodules on both side of thyroid gland. Thay have enlarged in size. One is solid and other is cyst.
Symptoms: first heart rate
Heat intolerance
Weakness and low grade fever.
The thing that worse is he has getting slightly eveluted low grade fever up to 100.4 at every evening last three weeks. And fever subcides itself after few hours at night.
So what should be cause of low grade fever ? These nodules are dengrous or not? Can these medicine cure the disease or fruther examine is required. Plez help me out in this regard. Me from Pakistan

Hello. Nodule in the thyroid gland with TFT showing hyperfunction suggestive of thyrotoxicosis.. This can usully cause symptoms like palpitations, increased sweating and also intolerance to heat with wt loss.... In your case cause of low grade fever is likely this abnormal function of thyroid...
For confirmation of hot nodule u need to Tc uptake scan of thyroid....if it turns out MNG with toxicosis on Tc uptake scan we can decide between surgery vs antithyroid drugs...
If it turns out AFTN (Autonomous functioning thyroid gland) u may benefit from Radioactive iodine therapy for permanent cure..
