I recently discovered a cavity on my molar. I have my exams next week and don't want to visit the dentist until I get back home from college which will be after 2 weeks. Can I afford to wait for 2 weeks. Is there any chance that the cavity will get worse and reach the root in these two weeks. Right now I only see a little black spot on top of my molar.

Cavity progresses with time.
A filling takes not more than maximum 30-40 minutes.
I would suggest you to give health a priority. 30 min can definitely be spared.
Donot delay the treatment. Get it done asap.
You can wait for sure unless there is no pain ... But don't delay the treatment ... Visit a nearby dentist and let the dentist check it clinically and he will simply excavate the caries and fill it with an appropriate filling material, datz all... otherwise caries will progress and cause further decay for which you require more complex procedures ...
Hello sir..
The caries may progress day by day... We can't predict when it ll reach the root..If you don't have symptoms of pain then you can wait for 2 weeks for treatment... But the treatment of caries won't take much time... Hardly it ll take only 20 min for filling... And you can eat normal diet after filling... It won't disturb your exams.. But treating the carious lesion in the early time ll definetely save the tooth by simple fillings

kindly visit dentist for furthur consultation and management
If the cavity is small on the tooth then you can wait for 2 weeks but you have to get it checked by a dentist. Simple cavity filling is not a lengthy procedure n is not painful. If you don’t have time enough right now visit a dentist as soon as your exams are over. It won’t reach deeper in two weeks so relax
