"A Homocysteine level of 75 µmol/L is considered significantly elevated (Hyperhomocysteinemia). Even though your Vitamin B12 is technically 'within range' at 218 pg/mL, it is at the lower end of normal. High homocysteine is often a more sensitive functional marker that your body lacks sufficient B12 or Folic Acid to process amino acids correctly. Elevated levels are clinically important because they are associated with an increased risk of blood clots (thrombosis), cardiovascular issues, and long-term cognitive decline if left untreated
Next Steps
Do connect and consult with for better treatment plan and advice on practo app To review your full medical history and design a targeted cardiovascular risk prevention plan based on these results, please book a full consultation session via my Practo profile
Health Tips
Dietary Support: "Increase your intake of green leafy vegetables, legumes, and eggs. These are natural sources of folate and B-vitamins that work alongside your medication to lower homocysteine." Hydration & Activity: "Stay well-hydrated and maintain moderate physical activity (like brisk walking). Good circulation is vital when homocysteine levels are high to minimize any risk of clotting." Caution: "Do not ignore this high reading simply because your B12 is 'normal.' High homocysteine is an independent risk factor that requires active management regardless of other lab values."

B12 borderline but homocysteine 75 is critically high — major cardiovascular risk. Check B6 & Folate urgently. Start B12+Folic Acid+B6 combo. See a physician immediately. Consult me privately for a personalised plan.
