It depends on the size and duration of the ear drum hole, the ENT specialist who has examined will be in a better position to judge the need for surgery. Moderate sized and larger perforations can only be repaired by surgery. There are new techniques of surgery where there is no external cut.

It depends on the size of the hole sir. Small ones heal by themselves. Medium, large and discharging ones require surgery. If the consulting doctor has advised surgery then go ahead with it please.
