High Cholesterol
Need a second opinion. I am on Cholesterol medication since few days. Once it comes to the normal level..do I still need to continue with the medication. Pls advise.

Yes. You have to continue with your medicine. Don't expect wonders.  You will need treatment continuously for at least 3 months before getting Lipid profile done again.

If you have started medicine for high cholesterol ,you may need to continue with it even after you achieve desirable levels.Along with the medications life style modification and diet modification Play an important role in the management of lipid disorders.High cholesterol being a risk factor for many cardiovascular diseases ,don't stop using the medications abruptly .

Hello i have noted your concern, Ideally you should continue the medication keeping the age factor in mind, but if you are starting any new drugs or having any allergies, consult the doctor who prescribed it to you for change in drug or stopping it.
