High cholesterol
Hi. I have Total cholesterol 216, LDL 116, VLDL 40 and Triglycerides 200. Can this be controlled with diet and exercise or do I need to take medication. Please advice?

Your total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and triglycerides levels are slightly raised .I assume you are not diabetic or hypertensive as you are 28 years. So there's no need for any medicine at this time. You need to change your life style ,and diet habits. With these measures you could definitely bring the cholesterol level below 200 triglycerides levels under 150 and LDL to below 100. If you are not able to achieve this within period of few months or if you carry any risk factors use of medicine is required

get your fasting glucose levels , HBA1C,liver function tests renal function tests and thyroid function tests as well

Drink lots of water avoid fatty food spicy food and alcohol drinks fresh fruits and vegetables should be a part of your diet exercise for 30 minutes a day for 5 days in a week
