You would need an audiometric test done first if it isn't done already to know the type and degree of hearing loss.
Following which further management can be suggested.
Usually behind the ear model hearing aids are used and are available in various brands at different price range

avoid exposure to loud sounds (if any) and keep a check on any comorbidities he has.
