An imbalance or disturbance in one can influence another. -Usually when people experience sleep deprivation it causes them to binge on wrong foods as their hunger hormones are increased. -But if your appetite levels are decreasing, there may be an underlying cause like infections, increased stress or anxiety levels or any specific medication that you may have started that is decreasing your appetite. -A thorough consultation with a healthcare professional is required to address the root cause of your sleep and hunger difficulties. -In the meantime, as a dietitian I would suggest, even if you do not feel hungry, try to consume food in small quantities at regular intervals. -You can consume your favorite food dishes, try to consume it while it is hot, or add ghee tempering to make it more appealing. -Try to be mindful of what you are eating, slow down, put your electronic gadgets away and focus only on meals and try to savor it to help you with appetite. -Regarding your sleep concerns, you can try relaxing breathing exercises or a glass of milk with cinnamon and turmeric to help you calm down and help you sleep better in turn. -Consuming less food and sleep disturbances can have a negative impact on health if continued for long term.
