Hba1c test
I just had a routine blood test done. My Hba1c came 5.1 and average blood sugar (is that different from FBS?) was 100. Is this normal? I read that blood sugar shouldn't be over 100. Does this mean I'm on the verge of being pre diabetic?

Average blood sugar means average level of blood sugar in the last 3 months. This is a calculation based on your HbA1c level. It has nothing to do fasting blood sugar which is a real time reading. You are not on the verge of diabetes. Please consult with me on Practo for further information and discussion.
